When Stacy Moor joined the RAMS team, we knew Masters Swimming was a perfect fit for her. She had a natural love for swimming and an eagerness to hone her skills. We also discovered she was a perfect fit for the RAMS. She brought us a new recruit, her husband Efrain, and both Stacy and Efrain quickly became our friends. Their smiles and laughter were a special addition.
It is not surprising that Stacy’s first job was poolside, serving as a lifeguard. Stacy liked to travel, enjoy good food and read and write. Her sense of humor underscored her writing and her life. And it was evident that her most important loves were Efrain, her family and her friends.
Stacy’s unexpected and untimely death in the spring of 2009 has left Coach Lorie and RAMS teammates with a great sense of loss. To keep her memory with us, RAMS and the RIT swim team sponsor an annual meet: The Stacy Moor Memorial Masters Swim Meet. Proceeds from this meet are donated to the Stacy Moor Memorial Swim Fund at RIT to support the RIT Tigers swim team.
It is our hope that the joy Stacy shared with us will be passed to the RIT Tigers.
